Course Summary

This unit introduces students to the theological, missiological, and practical foundations of church planting, with particular emphasis on missional movements and multiplication. Students explore biblical models of church planting, contemporary church planting strategies, and the role of leadership, discipleship, and contextualisation in establishing new faith communities. Drawing on global and Australian scholarship, as well as Vineyard theology and practice, students develop a contextual church planting proposal that integrates theology, cultural analysis, and mission strategy.

At the end of this unit students will be able to:

  2. Analyse contemporary church planting models and movement dynamics in global and Australian contexts.
  3. Develop a contextualised church planting strategy that integrates theology, cultural analysis, leadership, and multiplication principles.
