About Vineyard College
We're the training college of Vineyard Churches Australia, here to equip men and women for life and ministry in the Kingdom of God.
Our story
The Vineyard movement began in 1974 as a small Bible study in Los Angeles. Under the leadership of John and Carol Wimber it grew into a worldwide family of more than 2,400 churches in 95 countries, known for its focus on worship, prayer and equipping ordinary believers to join in God's Kingdom work.
Vineyard College grew out of that same desire in Australia: to train people who are grounded in Scripture and open to the Spirit. Over the years we have partnered with several Australian theological colleges so our students could gain recognised qualifications. Today we are an approved third-party deliverer of Tabor College's higher education awards, offering diplomas, degrees and postgraduate study with a distinctively Vineyard approach.
Our principal, Dr Peter Downes, served as National Director of Vineyard Churches Australia from 2003 to 2016.

Vineyard College is the training arm of Vineyard Churches Australia, a family of churches committed to following Jesus, pursuing God's Kingdom and serving their communities. We share the movement's heart for worship, prayer, the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, and practical, everyday ministry. That shapes everything we teach, from biblical studies and theology to healing prayer and church planting.
Open to everyone
You don't need to belong to a Vineyard church to study with us. We welcome students from every church and tradition. If you have a heart for the Kingdom of God and want to grow in your understanding of Scripture, theology and ministry, there's a place for you here.
